Alok is a People First Leader who enjoys challenging conventional talent management theories and redefining talent strategy for the future of work. With almost two decades of experience in Talent leadership, Alok has demonstrated the ability to lead aligned teams in complex and high-pressure situations, leveraging creativity, innovation, and coaching skills to deliver results.
In 2019, Alok became the youngest Global Fellow in Talent Management from The Wharton School/TMI, a program designed for high-achieving HR leaders with a global business impact. Alok also holds three Master's degrees, including an MBA from Fox School of Business, Temple University, and is a certified NLP Coach Practitioner with several other HR certifications.
Most recently Alok was the Head of Human Resources, for Asia Pacific based in Singapore for Media.Monks a digital-first marketing, advertising, and technology services company.
Prior to that, Alok led Compensation, Benefits & Performance function for ByteDance, a leading technology startup valued at US$300 billion. Alok successfully developed and implemented regional programs that contributed significantly to the company's exponential growth, leading a team of 12 spread across 11 countries. His expertise in HR leadership and ability to build high-performing teams allowed him to create the function 0 to 1, delivering exceptional results.
Previously, Alok served as a Regional Director at McCann Worldgroup, spearheading crucial Talent initiatives and serving as a key member of several global talent task forces, driving innovative solutions for regional talent management challenges. His contributions were integral to the team winning the prestigious Asia-Pacific Talent Management Team of the Year award by Campaign Asia in 2015, and being runners-up in 2017.
Earlier in his career, Alok held senior HR leadership positions at AXA XL, a major general insurance company, where he led People Ops and Compensation for India and oversaw HR Projects for APAC from Singapore. During his tenure, he played a crucial role in expanding the headcount by over 1.5X and spearheaded various talent interventions across the Asia Pacific region.
Since 2019, Alok has been providing pro-bono coaching through his platform, BeingAwesome, to help professionals globally maximize their potential and achieve success. As a coach and mentor, Alok has worked with a diverse range of HR and tech talent, including HR Heads, providing them with the tools and guidance necessary to excel in their careers.
